Day 1: Cochin to Thattakkad

Arrive in Cochin and drive to Thattakkad. Stay at the spectacular eco-lodge on the placid banks of the River Periyar. The Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary has a rich and varied birdlife.

Day 2: Thattakkad

Thattekkad is a lowland forest with several types of eco-systems – river line, grasslands, evergreen, scrub, dry deciduous, lowland forest – making it one of the best birding destinations in India.
Every morning and evening you will head to the bird sanctuary and nearby areas for an opportunity to spot innumerable birds such as Mottled Wood Owl, Ceylon Bay Owl, Oriental scopes owl, Brown Fish Owl, Spot-bellied Eagle Owl, Indian scopes owl, Jungle Owlet, Barn Owl, Brown Hawk Owl & Some Night Jars like Jerdons Night Jar, Great- Eared Night Jar, Savanna Night Jar, Indian Night Jar, etc.

Day 3: Thattakkad

Day to explore more birds to like Great- Eared Night Jar, Savanna Night Jar, Indian Night Jar, Sri Lankan Frogmouth, the White bellied Treepie, Rufous Babbler, Crimson backed Sunbird, White Bellied Blue Flycatcher, Wayanad Laughing Thrush, Malabar Parakeet, Malabar Grey Hornbill, Malabar Trogon etc.

Day 4: Thattakkad

Day to explore more birds to like Great- Eared Night Jar, Savanna Night Jar, Indian Night Jar, Sri Lankan Frogmouth, the White bellied Treepie, Rufous Babbler, Crimson backed Sunbird, White Bellied Blue Flycatcher, Wayanad Laughing Thrush, Malabar Parakeet, Malabar Grey Hornbill, Malabar Trogon etc.

Day 5: Thattakkad to Periyar

Drive to Periyar wild life sanctuary. The Green walk and Boat cruise will give you a marvelous chance to observe more birds.

Day 6: Periyar to Alleppey

After the bird walk in the morning, you will head to Alleppey, the land of backwaters. Enjoy your leisurely motor cruise and evening walk to observe the birds of backwaters like common kingfisher, stork – Billed Kingfisher, White Throated Kingfisher, Greater Coucal, Asian palm swift, feral rock pigeon, white-breasted water hen, Wood sand piper etc.

Day 7: Alleppey to Cochin
